Ulthera Beverly Hills and Los Angeles
Before Botox, Restylane, and all the lotions, potions, lasers, products, and procedures available today, the default term for any surgical cosmetic procedure for the last few decades was pretty much this: face-lift.
How times have changed. Today, so many nonsurgical options exist that many patients are able to avoid undergoing the knife. We hope to help you understand what facelift alternatives are available and, more importantly, which particular choices are right for you.
There are three main causes of aging: skin changes, laxity and volume loss. Each cause of aging needs to be treated in a customized fashion in order to obtain the best possible aesthetic outcome. Skin damage is typically treated with great skin care, sun protection and fractional lasers. Volume loss is addressed with fillers (restylane, juvederm, radiesse), volumizers (sculptra) and fat grafting (multilevel fat grafting).
Laxity has been traditionally treated with facelift and/or neck lift procedure. Today, this is the area with the most advances in non-surgical options. Non-invasive Tightening Devices are now available to deal with mild to moderate laxity of the face, neck, and brow area.
Ultherapy in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles at the CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery
After testing multiple tightening devices over the past decade, including Thermage, Titan, ReFirm and the Accent, we have chosen Ultherapy as our choice for non-surgical skin tightening.
Non-surgical tightening devices have undergone a significant transition over the past decade. Thermage was the first system to show the potential of achieving visible results with non-surgical devices. Ultherapy is the latest device to show great promise in the non-invasive tissue lifting technology. Ulthera uses intensive ultrasound or sound waves to directly impact the deep tissue layer of the brow, face and neck. This in turn gently heats the area thereby tightening loose skin.
Additionally, new collagen is deposited leading to a more youthful appearance of the overlying skin. No surgery is required and results will generally take several weeks to be realized.
Ulthera lifts, tightens and tones loose skin to counteract the effects of gravity and time, including lifting the brow, which in turns reduces excess skin on the lids, opens the eyes to give a more relaxed appearance. Ulthera can also help tighten a loose neck line, sagging jawline, double chin, waddle or as some of our patients call it, cure a turkey neck. It uses ultrasound through a magnifying glass to focus the energy and really tighten the DEEP tissue layer.
Tightening devices can be safely used with fillers, lasers, and fat grafting to obtain a true “NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT.” These treatments are not exclusive products and procedures but rather complementary and synergistic.
Ultherapy generally takes 30-60 minutes and is performed in the office setting. There is no down-time and patients return to work and normal activity within 24 hours. Over the ensuing 3-6 months, the treated regions start to become more firm and tightening of lax tissue is seen. Ulthera is a great combination treatment to be performed with facial fillers.
