Is It Normal To Have Bilateral Numbness After Facelift?

After a Facelift, is it normal to have numbness bilaterally near the ears? Will it go away?

Dr. Azizzadeh’s Expert Answer

Yes, it is normal to experience numbness after a facelift. In fact, almost every individual will have numbness after a facelift, and it usually lasts at least 8 weeks. While I do not know how long it has been since you had the surgery, the numbness should go away. With that said, although unlikely, permanent numbness is a possibility. If it has been more than 8 weeks, you should alert your plastic surgeon.
