How to get the most use out of Latisse

altFor those of us who do not have naturally long, thick, dark eyelashes, Latisse is the perfect solution! Latisse is the only FDA approved prescription solution that makes your eyelashes grow.

Almost everyone who tries Latisse notices an increase in the length and fullness of their lashes. While the results are great, Latisse can become expensive very quickly.

Your physician can prescribe Latisse for you, most plastic surgeons and dermatologists carry it in their office.  In general, as long as you have healthy eyes (ie no galucoma or infections) it is safe to use.  If you develop any irritation or discoloration in or around the eyes make sure to stop using Latisse and call your doctor.  See the FDA approved prescribing information for Latisse.

Dr. Azizzadeh has some great tips about how to make a little Latisse go a long way:

  • Use 1 applicator for both eyes so that one prescription lasts for a full 60 days.

  • Or, Instead of using the applicator that comes with Latisse you can use a very thin eyeliner brush and put just 1 drop of Latisse on it. Normally 1 drop is enough for both eyes.

  • You can use any left over product on your eyebrows if they are sparse and could benefit from some thickening.

  • Remember that you need to use Latisse on a daily basis in order to see results. So if you are not applying it nightly, you won’t achieve results as quickly or efficiently.

  • Once achieve the results you want you can then reduce application to every other day to maintain it.

Keep in mind that it can take a while for you to see the results of Latisse, so be patient and keep up your daily application. Within a few months you will have the long, beautiful lashes you have always dreamt of!
