Can I Get a Cheek Augmentation if I Have Had a Stroke?
A few years ago I had a stroke that caused some temporary facial nerve damage. Would this eliminate me as a candidate for a cheek augmentation?
Dr. Azizzadeh’s Expert Answer
First, I suggest you speak to your neurologist and primary care physician to determine your risks of undergoing anesthesia. I would recommend taking a conservative approach to cheek augmentation and try using fillers, as opposed to cheek implants. This is a much less invasive procedure that is performed in the doctor’s office
