All About The Liquid Facelift
Traditional facelifts can offer amazing results for patients who want to reverse the signs of aging and have a more youthful appearance. However, there are also non-surgical facelift options for those who are not ready to commit to a surgical facelift, but still want to fight wrinkles, volume loss, and skin laxity. At the CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Azizzadeh and skincare expert Nurse Jodi perform the liquid facelift, a non-surgical procedure that offers some of the benefits of a surgical facelift through a combination of injectables and facial fillers.
What Is a Liquid Facelift?
Dermal fillers and injectables are highly effective in treating lack of fullness, deep wrinkles, expression lines, and hollowed facial features. While one type of filler on its own may not address multiple signs of aging, a combination of these fillers and injectables can achieve incredible results. Dr. Azizzadeh first meets with each patient to discuss their individual needs and goals. Based on the examination, Dr. Azizzadeh creates a specific treatment plan for each patient that includes the combination of fillers and injectables that’s right for them.
What Fillers are used in a Liquid Facelift?
Patients often benefit from both temporary fillers and longer-lasting injectables. Depending on the individual needs of the patient, dermal filler expert Dr. Azizzdeh and Nurse Jodi, may use Restylane or Juvderm, which are temporary fillers that can create fullness in the lips and fill deep facial creases. Longer-lasting injectables such as Radiesse and Sculptra are highly effective in increasing volume, creating new curves, and producing a fuller, youthful look. Botox is often used in conjunction with these other fillers to relax the muscles that cause wrinkles and expression lines. Fat grafting can also be utilized in patients who wish to return volume to the face. Dr. Azizzadeh has extensive knowledge and experience in developing treatment plans that will help each patient achieve their goals.
What Results Can I Expect From a Liquid Facelift?
Most patients who undergo a liquid facelift notice immediate visual results from the injectables. Certain injectables, such as Sculptra, may require up to three sessions in order to achieve optimal results. The effects of the liquid facelift last longer depending on the type of injectable that was used during the procedure. Temporary fillers can last anywhere from three months to twelve months depending on if they are made from hyaluronic acid or collagen; longer-lasting injectables like Radiesse and Sculptra can last between one to two years. Botox assists the other injectables by minimizing facial muscle contraction for three to six months. Dr. Azizzadeh encourages patients to schedule follow-up treatments in order to polish the results.
